Connecting People to Jesus and His Lifestyle
Our ConnectionsHow Connections Community Church is connected... We are affiliated with the Huron Baptist Association, the Baptist State Convention of Michigan, and the Southern Baptist Convention. This way, working together with other Christians, we can do more to help others than we could working alone. However, we don't believe that we Baptists are the only thing God has going.
Some who come from other denominational backgrounds may have questions about the possible differences. Historically, the various Christian denominations have agreed on far more than they disagreed about. Baptists stand shoulder to shoulder with their Catholic friends in promoting life and traditional family values. Martin Luther is a hero to more than just the Lutherans. John Wesley’s ministry led, not only to the founding of the Methodist church, but also to the discipleship and accountability groups used by so many Bible-believing denominations, including our own. Presbyterians may place their Westminster Confession beside our Baptist statements of faith and find little difference – except concerning the method and exact meaning of baptism and how we organize our churches. Baptists continue to believe the Bible teaches what the historic confessions and creeds of other denominations affirm.
We don’t believe one has to be a Baptist to go to heaven. We don’t believe in trying to impose our beliefs on others; it wouldn’t be right even if it were possible (however, we do enjoy sharing our beliefs and appreciate a good discussion and a fair hearing). We don’t handle snakes. Can Baptists dance? Some can, some can’t.
Simply put, Connections Community Church is a church whose beliefs and practices are consistent with the Bible and historic Christianity, expressed in ways relevant to our culture.
